The "Silberberg" hotel restaurant at the main building of Hotel Traube Tonbach in Baiersbronn is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment. The modernisation is being carried out in two construction phases while the hotel remains fully operational. In addition to the high standards required for comfort, workmanship and scheduling, the sophisticated ceiling design presents particular challenges for the building services installation.
The suspended ceiling is being constructed as a high-quality timber cassette ceiling, requiring a considerable level of craftsmanship. Different ceiling levels, precisely detailed interfaces and the demanding architectural design call for an air distribution solution that is both technically reliable and discreetly integrated into the overall concept.
For draught-free supply air distribution, INDUL AP 18 linear diffusers are installed. The slim air diffusers are positioned between the timber cassettes and dimensionally adapted to the unique ceiling construction. To compensate for the varying ceiling levels and ensure a uniform HVAC connection, the linear diffusers are manufactured with project-specific custom throat heights of up to 227 mm.
Particularly in a premium hotel restaurant, thermal comfort and architectural design go hand in hand. The air distribution system should not dominate the visual impression of the interior but instead provide a comfortable indoor environment while remaining virtually unnoticed. The INDUL linear diffusers ensure draught-free supply air distribution while blending discreetly into the ceiling design.
The current installation progress clearly illustrates the close coordination required between the HVAC installation, ceiling construction and interior fit-out. Even during the construction phase, it becomes evident how precisely the air diffusers have been tailored to the timber structure. Once the refurbishment has been completed, the technology will become an almost invisible part of the interior architecture – delivering noticeable comfort while maintaining a discreet visual presence.
